Very good movie I watched it with my 2 10 year olds and husband this movie is very funny but includes very strong racism (physical aggression where an english man punches Javed's father because he is from Pakistan, name calling like paki, spray painting that says paki's get out, and one scene of a kid peeing in a Javed's house and saying I cleaned it for you), sex, language (which includes 4 uses of the s*** word, w**ker, 2 uses of crap, and paki several times), there are some inappropriate lyrics like suicide machines, or take a knife and cut this pain from my heart, there is also partial nudity like a girl anwsering the door with no pants on, and includes very EXTREME sadness Javed has problems with his father because Javed wants to be a poet and he loves Bruce Springsteen's music but Javed's father wants him to be a engineer, or a doctor, and wants him to study economics and they argue a lot about it there is also one scene where the dad rips the tickets Javed bought for 40 pounds to a Bruce Springsteen concert, but includes positive role models, and positive messages, but not a good movie for young kids Ultimately, the movie is about working hard and overcoming obstacles to achieve your goals while learning to appreciate the sacrifices others make on your behalf. Characters also argue, and some smoke cigarettes in the background. A Pakistani character is pushed down and injured by white nationalists, there's a hate crime at a local mosque, and characters feel threatened because of their race. Mature content is mostly in the form of strong language ('s-t,' 'bloody,' 'wanker,' ethnic slurs, etc.), kissing/innuendo, and racist bullying and violence.

Directed by Bend It Like Beckham's Gurinder Chadha, it shares themes with that crowd-pleasing hit: the conflict between tradition and following your dreams, the tension between parents and teens, the power of an all-consuming obsession, and the importance of empathy. Parents need to know that Blinded by the Light is a feel-good, fact-based comedy about a Pakistani teenager (Viveik Kalra) growing up in 1980s England whose life is transformed by the music of Bruce Springsteen.
